Pharmacy Technology

"The Pharmacy Technology Program at Fayetteville Technical Community College is accredited by the Pharmacy Technician Accreditation Commission (ASHP/ACPE) and is operated in compliance with their standards for accredited pharmacy technology programs. The Pharmacy Technology Program prepares individuals to assist the pharmacist in duties that a technician can legally perform and to function within the boundaries prescribed by the pharmacist and the employment agency. The Associate Degree Program trains students to become pharmacy technicians working under the supervision of licensed pharmacists. Instruction includes classroom, laboratory, and clinical learning experiences. Students will: gather data used by pharmacists to monitor drug therapy, maintain inventories, mix intravenous solutions and other specialized medications, package medications in unit-dose or med-card form, prepare prescription medications, and update patient profiles."
